The capacity of systems that filter smoke, oil, soot and odor is calculated according to the required amount of exhaust air and smoke density.

PRE-FILTER GROUP: In systems where coal barbecue is used, there should be at least 1 guide filter and 4 tightly woven metal oil filters at the entrance of the air to the filter system.

In systems where natural gas or electric cookers are used, there should be at least 1 guide filter and 1 tightly woven metal oil filter at the entrance of the air to the filter system.

1.a. Guide Filter: This filter, made of stainless or electrostatically painted steel material, provides circular motion to the air, catching coarse particles and ensuring that the air passes to the electrostatic filters in a laminar manner. Guide filters can be washed and reused when they get dirty. Their service life is approximately 10 years.

1.b. Closely Textured Metal Oil Filter: These filters, made of aluminum plates mounted in a stainless or galvanized case, ensure that coarse oil particles are caught. Metal oil filters help electrostatic filters operate at high performance. Metal oil filters can be washed and reused when they get dirty. Their service life is approximately 5 years.

ELECTROSTATIC FILTER GROUP: Electrostatic filters should be used as the second filter group. Electrostatic filters have the ability to capture oil, soot and dust particles in the air. The electrostatic filter capacity to be used is calculated based on the amount of exhaust air needed and smoke density. Preferring the ionizers of electrostatic filters as plate models increases filter efficiency and provides ease of cleaning and maintenance. Electrostatic filters can be washed and reused when they get dirty. Their service life is approximately 5 years.

OZONE FILTER GROUP: Ozone filters should be used as the third filter group. Ozone filters have the ability to eliminate organic odor molecules in the air. The ozone filter capacity to be used is calculated based on the amount of exhaust air needed and odor density. The design of the preferred ozone filters should be such that the air is washed with ozone by passing through the plates. Ozone filters can be washed and reused when they get dirty. Their service life is approximately 5 years.

ACTIVATED CARBON FILTERS: Activated carbon filters should be used as the fourth filter group. Activated carbon filters have the ability to eliminate organic and inorganic odor molecules in the air. The capacity of the active carbon filter to be used is calculated based on the amount of exhaust air required and the odor density. For more effective odor filtration, cartridge models of activated carbon filters should be preferred. Their service life is approximately 6 months depending on the odor density.

FAN GROUP: The fan group, which should be positioned at the air outlet point of the filter system, consists of an electric motor, fan and cabin. In these systems, instead of belt-pulley fan models, plug fan models, which are expressed as direct coupled, should be used. The cabin should be designed in a way that the air of the fan and the electric motor will not mix. The fan and electric motor capacity is calculated according to the size and model of the hood used. Its service life is approximately 10 years.

CONTROL PANEL: A frequency inverter control panel should be used to adjust the speed of the electric motor used in the system and to operate under a healthy current. All control operations of this panel should be done from the panel door. The panel with frequency inverter, three-phase fuse group, single-phase fuse group and panel fan should also have an on-off switch for the fan, manual and automatic separation on-off switch for electrostatic and ozone filters and a potential fan speed switch.

CABINETS: The cabinets used in these systems should be manufactured from stainless material or electrostatic painted steel material to ensure oil and air tightness. Joints should definitely be welded. Sealing gaskets should definitely be used at the points where the cabinets are joined to each other. Aluminum framed cabinets designed as fan cells should never be used in these systems. The cabinets should have an internal drain pan and drain outlet.

CHASSIS: In order for the filter system to operate efficiently and for periodic maintenance to be easily performed, the filter system consisting of the pre-filter group, electrostatic filters, ozone filters, active carbon filters and fan group should be mounted on a single piece steel chassis.

PROTECTION OF THE USER: The preferred filter system should have a CE certificate, the company manufacturing the filter system should have an ISO 9001:2015 quality certificate, it should have an Industrial Registry Certificate issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey, the electrostatic filter technology used should be documented by the Turkish Patent Institute and it should have a Service Adequacy Certificate by the Turkish Standards Institute, which prevents possible grievances of the user and ensures national are important steps that ensure the protection of capital.
