Heat Recovery Units
Heat recovery units are designed to save energy while ventilating the spaces needing fresh air. Heat recovery units also pay for themselves in a short time by means of the energy they save.
Operating Principle:
Heat recovery units basically operate by the principle of adding the energy in the air discharged from the space to fresh air ventilated in. In order to ventilate a space where a heat recovery unit is used, cooled air in the space is discharged while the fresh air ventilated in is cooled. In winters, on the other hand, hot air in the space is discharged and fresh air is heated. Thus, up to 70% energy is saved. Heat recovery units do not use any energy source during this process. They recover heat from air to air. Our heat recovery units are used with split or variable cooling volume systems which cannot supply air. Thus, fresh hair needed in the space is provided while saving energy. Heat recovery units are used continuously throughout the year.
Places of Usage
They are used for ideal ventilation in places where intensive fresh air is needed in locations where exterior temperature is very low or very high such as offices, restaurants, cafes, movie theaters, hospitals, classrooms, dormitories, indoor swimming pools, printing houses and workshops. Our heat recovery units are manufactured in a wide range of applications from 250 m3/h to 7.000 m3/h.
Type of Assembly
Our heat recovery units are similar in appearance to duct type power plants. (???? – santral yerine başka bir şey olabilir mi acaba?) They take a small space because of their extremely low cabin height. Low cabin profiles allow mounting them inside the suspended ceilings or raised floor.
Our heat recovery units are mounted inside the suspended ceiling with suspension elements. Therefore, they don’t need any base.
Cabin
Double walled panels made of extruded aluminum profile are used in the manufacture of our heat recovery units. These panels are 22.5-mm thick. Their exterior surface is painted and PVC coated and interior surface is made of galvanized sheet. Panels are polyurethane filled. Panels are fastened to profiles with bolts and there is an airtight neoprene seal between the panel and profile. There is at least one removable service hatch fastened to the side of the cabin with clips which allows reaching to recuperetor and filters. As the fans are mounted on front panels, they can be removed and taken out with the front panels for service.
Ventilators and Aspirators
In our heat recovery units double suction fans are used in our heat recovery units as ventilator and aspirator. They are very similar with similar technical characteristics and driven by either direct coupled motors or belt drives. The fans are tested and certified in the laboratories of the manufacturing company pursuant to AMCA 210/85. Plated heat recovery elements are used in our heat recovery units. Yield of these aluminum heat recovery elements operating in accordance with the principle of counter flow heat exchanger varies between 40% and 70%. Yield of our heat recovery units is given separately for each model.
Standard manufacture does not include defrost system. If requested, defrost system can be added to plated exchangers by adding front and by-pass dampers. A two-position differential pressure switch which detects the increase in pressure loss caused by frost deposit in the plated exchanger and a two-position damper motor for control are added to heat recovery units. When the pressure loss caused by frost deposit increases above the predetermined level, differential pressure switch activates two-position damper motor, closes the front damper and opens the by-pass damper. After the icing is removed, the dampers return to their previous positions. A condensation pan and a drop holder are standard on the exhaust outlet of heat recovery unit.
Filters
EU2 class panel filters are used in the external air inlet of our heat recovery units. Opening the side covers is enough to reach to these filters mounted on slides. Filters are washable and reusable.
Accessories
In our heat recovery units cabin, exhaust and fresh air ventilators, plated heat exchanger, EU2 filter on exterior air side, condensation pan and drop holder are standard.
However, the following accessories are mounted of the units and delivered.
- Electric heater
- Water battery
- Speed control switch
- Single shaft front and by-pass damper for defrost.
- Differential pressure switch for automatic defrost
- Two-position, 220V or 24V damper motor for automatic defrost
- Damper with backward moving blades and damper motor at fresh air inlet
- An exchanger or two exchangers in series with a yield higher than standards
- For filters other than EU2 filters, cabin construction needs to be changed.
- Applications with greater air volumes and heater-cooler batterie
